‘NBA 2K18’ News: Xbox Users Affected By MyCareer Deletion Have Been Compensated, Per 2K – Forbes
If you have NBA 2K18 on Xbox One and you submitted a support ticket because your VC purchases were wiped away in last week’s widespread data losses, your accounts should have been credited, per a message provided to me by 2K.
If the claim was reported through September 21, the entire VC purchase and an additional 50,000 VC was credited to affected users account for their inconvenience. According to 2K, the issue primarily affected Xbox One users, but PS4 users who were impacted similarly–and submitted a ticket for the issue–will likely be compensated in the next patch.
Here’s a copy of the email sent to users impacted by the issue, per NBA2K on Reddit:
Since we became aware of the issue that caused some players to lose their save files, we’ve been working to rectify the situation. Likewise, the development team has deployed a patch that we believe has fixed most of the issues with lost MyCAREER files; hopefully you won’t encounter this problem moving forward. That said, if you do run into this issue (or any other within the game), don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll do our best to resolve things.
We understand how frustrating this whole experience has been for you, and we want to make things right for the inconvenience you experienced during our launch weekend. As a result, all VC you’ve purchased has been credited back to your account, and we’re also presenting you with an additional 50,000 VC. Hopefully this will come in handy!
We sincerely apologize for the frustration and also want to thank you for being such a great fan. See you in The Neighborhood!
The MyCareer issue negatively impacted an otherwise strong launch for NBA 2K18. It’s also intensified the focus on one mode in the game while there are six others that are fully developed, unaffected and not as dependent on VC–if at all.
